Wasting Time
I’ve learned so much doing this work. Being a hospice doula is really about life and love and family. Most of all it’s the reminder to not waste time and to make sure the people in your life know that you love them.
I just want to encourage everyone to tell the truth, to be honest and to appreciate and savor life – almost childlike – because everything is such a gift and we don’t do enough of that…
also to appreciate each other, to be kinder to one another, to be able to respect that we all do things differently and that’s OK, to be less judgmental, to listen – not to fix but to hear, to let people know that they’ve been heard and to validate their words and thoughts – because if they’re sharing them with you, that says that they trust you.
And stop wasting so much time.
