Community is a group for everyone.

It’s a place to learn and chat about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, how it affects our relationships, ways to support each other and ways to include the individual with Duchenne – and their family – in social life. With a mix of so many different roles in the Duchenne journey, there is definitely someone to help give insight.


A Group for Gaming

FFD Gaming is a group for Duchenne families.

Online gaming is a fantastic way to support the social life of the family and individual with Duchenne. This group is a place to organize online gaming with others, promote your own streaming and learn the basics of how to connect with other gamers online.


A Group for Grieving

Forever with Us is for the family members of loved ones who have died from Duchenne.

So often, Duchenne families feel like they’ve lost their place in the Duchenne community once their loved one dies. We want you to know you will forever be an important part of our community. This group is a place to grieve, reminisce and find a way forward. Together.


Groups for Immediate and Extended Family

Siblings is a group for individuals who have siblings with Duchenne.

Being the sibling of an individual with Duchenne shapes you in so many ways. This group is a place to get support from others who are also experiencing this unique sibling journey. Venting, crying and laughing are all a part of the life.


Adults with DMD is for adults with DMD (18+).

A place to connect with other adults with Duchenne – to chat, laugh, complain, get input, to talk about gaming and life challenges.


Parenting is for those who are fulfilling the role of parenting the child or adolescent with Duchenne, whether biological parent, adoptive parent step parent, grandparent, etc.

It’s a place to chat about the busy-ness of day to day life and how to manage it all.


Grandparents is for the grandparents of individuals with Duchenne.

It’s a place to learn more about Duchenne, ask how others navigate the relationships with your children and grandchildren and learn about those unexpected Duchenne outbursts.


Significant Others is a group for those who are romantically interested in an individual with Duchenne.

It’s a place to learn more about Duchenne itself, to connect with others who have dated or married individuals with Duchenne, and to learn ways to include “romance” in the relationship.


Extended Family & Grandparents is for the cousins, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents of the individual with Duchenne.

It’s a place to learn more about Duchenne, ask how others navigate the relationships with your children and grandchildren and learn about those unexpected Duchenne outbursts.


Groups for the Support Network

Extra Hands for DMD is for respite providers, nurses, aides, individuals with Duchenne and parents and extended family of individuals with Duchenne.

A place to learn more about DMD itself, to network with nurses, aides, and respite who are experienced with Duchenne and looking for employment.


Supporting the Siblings is for everyone wanting to learn more to better support the siblings.

It’s a place to learn more about the responsibilities put on the siblings, behaviors that might be grief or anger in disguise, how to talk to them about the disease and so much more.


Supporting the Adult with Duchenne is for anyone wanting to learn how to better support the adult with Duchenne.

It’s a place to learn more about the specific challenges of the adult with Duchenne and how to help. Topics from medical decisions, to living arrangements, to schooling, a job/career, and relationships are all welcome here.


Educators, Therapists & Parents is for our support teams in the school, clinic, and counseling worlds.

It’s a place to learn more about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy itself, how it affects cognition and behaviors, and to brainstorm with others ways to better support the individual with Duchenne in these often stressful situations.
