Family, Friends and Duchenne was created to educate and support the individual with Duchenne, their family and friends through the daily challenges our Duchenne community faces – from the childhood years through adulthood and beyond.
We encourage tough conversations that are integral to supporting and improving the quality of life for individuals living with Duchenne. We openly discuss the challenges we face with Duchenne behaviors, family dynamics, social isolation, intimacy and relationships, along with the individual’s mental health, personal development, and goals in life – all the while navigating various levels of change, loss and grief.
We accomplish this with a focus on education, support and social inclusion worldwide for anyone whose life has been touched by a Duchenne diagnosis.
We strive to share the most recent research on our website, livestream and podcast about the cognitive, behavioral, social and legal implications of Duchenne. We offer Facebook groups, weekly online support groups, and one-on-one conversations with adults, mothers, siblings and grievers in our community. We offer social inclusion and advocacy opportunities with our volunteer program, our podcast guests and our contributing writers .
We invite you to join us.
