It’s so true. The medical situation affects the individual, their parents, their siblings, and more. And while the future for the individual with Duchenne often seems uncertain and tenuous, the siblings struggle with their own future, too… often unnoticed.
“Do I help my family at any cost? Do I just leave only to struggle with guilt and blame later? Are there any other options?” It’s a tough place to be as a sibling of an individual with a disability. They need our support.
