Counseling in Indiana

Carolyn Schausten, MFT Student Intern

Family, Friends and Duchenne is so happy to announce that we are collaborating with Carolyn Schausten, MFT Student Intern, to provide affordable counseling to our Duchenne community in Indiana.

About Carolyn Schausten

As a Marriage and Family Therapist intern at Christian Theological Seminary, I am honored to provide families a safe space to feel more valued, heard and supported in a society where voices are often dimmed.

As a special needs parent, I have personal experience with the stress that comes along with chronic medical needs. I work hard to help each family member feel welcomed and heard in an open environment that fosters a sense of connection to self and others.

I look forward to utilizing my passion in serving those in this community and helping you navigate the ups and downs in your unique journey.

About Counseling in Indiana

While Carolyn also does individual work, her current openings are for couples and families. Couples and family counseling are 1½ hours per session.

We understand that finances are very tight for the Duchenne family. We also know that healthy family dynamics and family mental health are of the utmost priority. To help support our community, Family, Friends and Duchenne has collaborated with Carolyn to provide these services to families at a reduced fee of $20 per session.

Most sessions are done through Zoom with the potential option of in-person sessions for those that live locally to the Indy area.

To get started, please use this link and request Carolyn as your therapist. When she receives the request, she will discuss setting up a time to talk.
