Here and Aware

Here and Aware

And what if you turned off all the noise,
Except for the rain on the roof,
And you felt the warmth of the person next to you,
Or the dog asleep at your foot,
Or the beat of your own heart against your hand.
What if you noticed you are alive and here,
Through this changing of the calendar,
Through this shifting.
Quietly.
Intentionally.
Peacefully and powerfully.
One being of billions.
In ritual forever and for now.
Silently.
Effortlessly.
Making your way through time.
What splendor to be here and aware.
And so it is.
